Shima's work with the Kanatzidis group has been published in Chemistry of Materials! Li3Sb7Se12 is a new ternary semiconductor isostructural to benjaminite from the pavonite series, with ultraslow lattice thermal conductivity (0.53–0.37 W m⁻¹ K⁻¹). DFT calculations reveal that the hierarchical bonding scheme and the coordination environment of antimony significantly impact its heat transport properties, leading to the ultralow thermal conductivity that was observed experimentally.
